A nursery goods retailer with a new opportunity for an Assistant Store Manager

A baby goods retailer with an excellent reputation in their market. They are building on their success and are opening a brand new nursery and baby store in Stoke-On-Trent. This company does not target their store staff on sales, or target them to sell particular products. Your new role
You will assist the Store Manager in the launch and daily operations of the newest store in their expanding estate, driving store sales, profitability and customer service. Working 37.5hrs a week, with two weekends out of four on a rota basis, you will lead from the front and act as an ambassador of the company and ensure that all customers receive an exceptional shopping experience. When the Store Manager is out you will be ultimately responsible for ensuring the customer has an amazing store experience. You will work closely with the Store Manager and produce store reports and go through this with the Store Manager daily. You will keep an eye on your competitors and complete price comparisons and mystery shops in your market, reporting back on your findings. You will be responsible for delivering training, mentoring and coaching and will give regular staff reviews and build development plans to help your team grow their skills. You will supervise store staff and will also be present on the shop floor advising customers on the best products for them.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you should have demonstrable experience in a Senior, Supervisor or Deputy Manager role; it would be beneficial if you come from a nursery or baby product area. You should have an interest in nursery goods and a genuine pride to give the best customer service possible.
