Head of Retail / Head of Concessions
Our client is a premium European womenswear brand which has been established for more than 60 years across wholesale and retail.
They now wish to appoint a Head of Retail to manage their UK department store concession business.
The successful candidate will be able to operate a best practice business model – preferably EDI consignment - to drive performance, assess sell-in and manage the reporting, sell through planning and markdown execution. Our client trades with department stores groups so managing stock transfers, training and sales reporting is critical. Liaising with Head Office on performance versus plan is also vital as well as buy plan analysis. Online business is developing so an interest in monitoring the success rate is critical.
A hands on approach is required, working with staff and management alike to fine tune the buy, drive and analyse the sales, train the staff and improve merchandising standards where appropriate.
All general methods of business acumen will fall within the successful candidate’s domain - reviewing best practice, implementing workshops, staff incentives and stock-management to ensure plan is achieved.
Candidates should be driven, hardworking and have a hands on approach to business and be able to lead and inspire key stores and communicate at all levels. You should also possess excellent business acumen, numerical skills with a flair for product, as well as being an excellent time planner with a considered approach. In addition, you should be IT literate.
This role will really inspire someone with retail area management experience or an established buyer/senior buyer within a premium womenswear business looking to move into retail management.
