An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HR Manager to support our South Division. You will support the company's HR strategy for retail taking a keen interest in business performance measures, working alongside the Regional Business Manager with a purpose in delivering the vision for people at New Look. When you meet with a customer, you'll be able to interpret key HR metrics, data, insight and explain what they mean for business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partner RBMs (Regional Business Managers)
  • You know your customers and stakeholders and work hard to build great partnerships and be viewed as 'always striving to add value'
  • You'll have strong awareness of your customers' immediate, short and long term needs and how you're adding value to help drive business performance, adapting your style to support
  • Work in partnership with RBMs and Store managers, constructively challenging them to create short term, medium and long term succession across a broad range of roles in order to future proof the business and ensure the leadership teams are fully engaged in the importance and delivery of the HR strategy
  • You'll take the time to have a depth of understanding of your customers' roles and responsibilities in order to support them

Talent & Succession
  • Work in collaboration with recruitment team, coaching RBMs and store managers regarding the need to prioritise and act with pace regarding vacancies and the impact on the business
  • Centrally manages the +1/+2 Talent Matrix with RBMs and store managers and can clearly articulate the plan.
  • You up-skill and coach all customers in the talent identification process ensuring their clear on the criteria and benchmark for top talent
  • You'll ensure through effective talent identification and engagement you put the necessary steps in place to help our people fulfil their ambitions
  • As a skilled influencer and coach you'll educate and up skill Line Managers to understand the business benefit of Talent and Engagement initiatives and the impact this has on regions and in stores
  • You understand the importance of financial and budget planning for HR managing headcount and bench marking effectively through the company's HAF process
  • Role model an effective performance management culture, educating your customer on how to link that to a reward framework with realistic objectives and business measures
  • You'll act as the performance improvement driver, coaching your customer to deliver and embed a positive people management culture
  • You'll use your knowledge and experience to identify opportunities and risks supporting your customer to close gaps that will drive business performance
  • During transitions of change, you will act as a positive business role model coaching your customer through the change cycle, helping them understand the business rationale guiding them to the end goal

Employee Relations
  • You'll advise, coach and guide RBMs and Store Managers on complex ER cases helping to reduce risk, in turn up-skilling customers in delivering best practice
  • You coach and develop People and Development Specialists in effectively supporting their regions, adding value through driving people metrics regarding IDG, LTO, LTS and engagement
  • You'll build relationships with ER team, keep up to date and have a depth of understanding of current employment law, know where to access it and the impact of it on the business
  • You'll influence ER policy and understand how and why it affects our employees
  • Role model our Reward & Recognition scheme, coaching your customer to appreciate the intrinsic link between people and performance
  • You'll regularly gather feedback from your customer on your service delivery and our overall strategy continually looking to improve our ways of working
  • You'll coach, mentor and guide your People and Development Specialists to continually become better versions of themselves
  • Undertake, manage and embed our engagement activities to help our employees have a voice about life at New Look, acting where possible on feedback whilst managing employee expectations

Experience & Skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment
  • A strong generalist HR background
  • Retail experience is highly desirable
  • A good understanding of UK & ROI Employment Law
