Based in South Yorkshire this sports retailer has an excellent reputation in their market with a loyal customer base. The company is made up of a small retail location that is supported by a dedicated retail store team and an eCommerce website. They are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and listening to the needs of their customers and tailoring their product ranges accordingly. This store presents an ideal opportunity for a store manager looking for a project to call their own, as there is a lot of opportunity for change across merchandising, display, stock and how their eCommerce site is presented. They are looking for a Store Manager to join the business with new ideas who wants to implement change and nurture the brand and ensure its continuing success.
Your new role
As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store. You will set weekly, monthly and annual targets and work closely with your store team to maintain profitability for your store. You will be responsible for cashing up and banking procedures and inventory management. You will work to maintain excellent customer service and store standards and improve the store experience. You will oversee a small team of longstanding and dedicated store staff made up of full and part time sales assistants and store supervisors.
You will run this new location as if it were your own business. You will have the freedom to make your own decisions with the support of the owner - if you want to completely change the layout of the shop floor or introduce a new range of product you can do this! This role offers a great deal of flexibility and autonomy to run your store as you see fit. As part of your role you will be working with local suppliers to source products. What you decide to bring into your store will be up to you and you will tailor the ranges to the needs and wants of your customers. The majority of your time will be spent working to improve the physical store, but you will also be able to influence the online eCommerce store also.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you should have demonstrable experience in a managerial or supervisory role within sports or sports fashion. You should have an interest in nursery goods and a genuine pride to give the best customer service possible. You will be a confident and independent leader who has an entrepreneurial spirit. This company is looking for someone that gets excited about their brand and what they do, and strives to deliver exceptional customer service through their team. You should also have excellent commercial awareness, leadership and people management skills with the ability to train, mentor and coach. You should have the ambition to drive store improvements.

You will receive a salary of up to £30,000 with an excellent benefits package including pension contributions.
