A vintage furniture store in Wetherby are looking for a passionate, creative and dedicated Store Manager
Your new company
A vintage furniture store in Wetherby are looking for a passionate and dedicated Store Manager to breathe some new ideas into the space, and be responsible for ensuring its continued success. The store performs extremely well and is supported by a loyal team of 20 full and part-time staff. The space is compact but filled to the brim with pre-loved treasures - it's a real Aladdin's cave! If you are looking for a hands-on role where you can make a difference from day one this is it.
Your new role
This isn't a desk-based role, you'll be mucking in collecting new items, appraising and pricing them, arranging them in the showroom and managing their extensive stockroom. Along with the day-to-day operations of the store. You will inspire and motivate your staff and will make the most of opportunities to grow the store's customer base and excellent reputation. As a new line for revenue, the company is also in the process of setting up an eBay store in a dedicated space onsite and have a team of people handpicking the best or most quirky items and uploading them online, so there's lots to get involved with! You will be responsible for following all finance, banking, health & safety, and other procedures. You won't be on your own, you will be supported by a lovely Head Office team, but the store is very much in your hands and you are free to make changes and be experimental - if you think there's a better way of working, you can come into this store and make a real difference.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have some store leadership experience, ideally working already at Store Manager level so you can come into this role and hit the ground running. Alternatively if you have been a department manager or assistant store manager level and are looking to grow your experience in store management this would be an ideal opportunity to do so. You should be a self-starter and enjoy taking ownership, and have strong leadership, organisational and motivational qualities. Your background may come from vintage, antiques, charity / not-for-profit, or furniture. With any Store Manager role, there will be some weekend working required with some opening and closing responsibilities all arranged on a rota'd basis, so you will need the flexibility and commitment to do this.
What you'll get in return
In return for your efforts you will get to work with a dedicated and hardworking team. The company is offering an excellent salary and an outstanding holiday package. You will have the support of a head office team, but the freedom to experiment and change changes for the better. This is a real opportunity for a creative and passionate individual to come in, do great things and have your input celebrated and appreciated. Free parking on-site.
